NDIS community nursing & high-intensity support — clinically governed

NDIS community nursing & high-intensity support — clinically governed

When an NDIS participant has clinical needs, the right question isn't "who's available" — it's "who has the nursing governance to do this safely." Carehaven delivers registered-nurse-led community nursing and high-intensity support within our NDIS registration, across Melbourne's north to Greater Bendigo.

NDIS registration is national; we currently deliver clinical supports across the corridor above.

Where our nursing advantage matters

We focus on clinical work where registered-nurse governance genuinely improves safety and outcomes — not generic support. Within our registration and workforce competence, that includes:

  • Community nursing (NDIS group 0114) — wound and catheter care, medication support, and continence management in the home.
  • High-intensity daily personal activities (NDIS group 0104) — we are registered to deliver complex bowel care, enteral feeding & management, tracheostomy management, urinary catheter management, ventilator management, subcutaneous injections, complex wound management and severe dysphagia management (plus day-to-day medication management). Delivered by competent workers under registered-nurse governance.
  • Clinical oversight for SIL providers — RN oversight, competency training, delegation and supervision so accommodation teams can support participants with clinical needs safely.

We deliberately don't rebuild around generic community participation, household tasks or low-acuity support. If a participant's needs are non-clinical, we'll say so and help point to a better fit.

How it works

Request a Clinical Suitability Review — a short conversation to understand the need and confirm it's within our scope.

RN assessment — a registered nurse assesses the participant and agrees a clinical support plan.

Confirm funding fit — we help check the supports sit within the participant's plan (e.g. under nursing / high-intensity support line items).

Commence, with governance — care delivered by competent workers under clinical oversight, with review.

Service area: Melbourne's outer north (Donnybrook, Craigieburn, Epping, Whittlesea) through Mitchell and the Macedon Ranges to Greater Bendigo.

Frequently asked

Is this different from a disability support worker?

Yes. Community nursing and high-intensity supports require clinical skills and nursing governance. Read: NDIS community nursing vs disability support work →

How is a high-intensity support funded in a plan?

High-intensity supports are typically funded under the relevant Core / daily-activities line items; a clinical need and appropriate provider competence are expected. We'll help check fit during the suitability discussion.

We're a SIL provider — can you provide clinical oversight only?

Yes — RN oversight, training, delegation and supervision. Read: clinical oversight for SIL providers →
